15th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Dear Volunteer,

Thank you for agreeing to volunteer with Sisters Empowerment Network, Inc. (SEN) for our 15th Annual Walk A Mile in Her Shoes 5K on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Clayton County International Park in Jonesboro, GA!

Your time, energy, and willingness to serve are an important part of making this event a successful and meaningful experience for our participants, families, volunteers, partners, and community.

📍 Volunteer Arrival Time

Please arrive by 7:00 AM to allow enough time to sign in, receive your volunteer assignment, and get settled before participants arrive.

👕 What to Wear

Please wear:

• Jeans
• White shirt
• Comfortable walking shoes

There will be a lot of standing and walking, so please dress comfortably and wear shoes that will allow you to move around safely throughout the event.

🪪 Volunteer Check-In

When you arrive, please sign in at the volunteer check-in area. You will receive a Volunteer Badge identifying you as part of the SEN volunteer team.

Please wear your badge throughout the event.

🙋🏽‍♀️ Your Role as a Volunteer

Volunteers may be assigned to areas such as registration, participant assistance, vendors, information tables, event activities, course support, or other areas where help is needed.

Participants may have questions about the event, registration, teams, vendors, the course, or other activities. Please be prepared to assist whenever possible.

If you don't know the answer, that's okay! Please direct the participant to a SEN staff member rather than guessing or providing incorrect information.

💧 A Few Reminders

• Arrive on time and ready to serve.
• Bring water and stay hydrated.
• Keep your phone available for event-related communication, but please remain attentive to your assignment.
• Stay in your assigned area unless a SEN staff member releases you or asks you to assist elsewhere.
• Be friendly, welcoming, and patient with our participants and guests.
• If you see something that needs attention, please notify a SEN staff member.
• Most importantly, have fun and enjoy being part of this special day!
